REFUSED DANCE TOWARDS REVOLUTION IN NEW VIDEO FOR “REV001” 1

Refused are ramping towards the release of their new album War Music, and they’re back with yet another video to tide fans over for the full record.

The track, “REV001,” arrives alongside a video depicting lead singer Dennis Lyxzén dancing his way towards revolution and battling neo-fascists.

The new song’s mix of deep hardcore grooves, outright attitude and powerful message make for a perfect anthem in today’s society. The track also features Swedish singer/songwriter Mariam The Believer as a guest vocalist.

The band gave their thoughts on the new song in a statement explaining the track’s meaning.

“‘REV001′ is a protest song. A punk rock song. We like to think of it as incredibly violent pop music. Whatever you call it, we’re hoping it’ll get your blood boiling and that it’ll make you wanna dance (like it does our fearless captain @dennislyxzen in the video), ’cause what else can one do in these desperate times? Well, we at the bottom could arm ourselves and go for those at the top, while smashing a few banks on the way? We’ll get there. Like we said, these things happen all the time.”

“REV001” follows the band’s last song, “Blood Red,” which marked the first bit of new music from the post-hardcore veterans since their 2015 comeback record.

“The first song we finished from our new record, first song we played live off of it, and now its the first song you’re gonna hear because it was truly inspired by you, our live audience, the old and the new, who come out and help us turn every venue into a boiling hot mess.”

War Music arrives on October 18 via Spinefarm Records/Search & Destroy. Check out the new music video in the player below.
